Movie review: Nanny McPhee

Nanny McPhee

Nanny McPhee is a movie based on a series of British books published for children in the 60’s, titled Nurse Matilda and written by Christianna Brand. With his children - who are nightmare - and with the family’s evil Aunt Adelaide (Angela Lansbury) - who has been supplementing the families income and threatens to tear the family apart and send him to debtor’s prison if he does not marry within the month - the widowed father Mr Brown find himself in a complicate situation but that until Nanny McPhee arrives at his door, determined to turn the children into upstanding citizens. Thanks to Nanny McPhee’s 5 lessons, we see transformations both in the lives of the Brown family as well as with Nanny McPhee. What follows is a story quite fictitious and fairy tale-like.
