Mariah Carey to star in Tennessee

According to the news, the R&B celebrity Mariah Carey will star in Tennessee, in which she plays a waitress who sets off with two brothers to find their estranged father, in order to help them in saving their younger brother, who has leukemia.

The drama is to be directed by Aaron Woodley (Rhinoceros Eyes) from a script by Russell Schaumberg. The film will be produced by Lee Daniels (Monster’s Ball) and shoots in New Mexico and Tennessee this spring, reports Variety. Apparently, Daniels got the idea to cast her after watching Mariah Carey’s Grammy-winning album “The Emancipation of Mimi” become the biggest selling disc of 2005.

Samuel L Jackson and 50 Cent Unite for “Home of the Brave”

Samuel L Jackson, Jessica Biel, Christina Ricci, Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson, and Brian Presley are said to co-star in the dramatic movie, “Home of the Brave”. A new war movie called -”Home of the Brave” follows three soldiers as they attempt to adjust to life back in the States after lengthy tours in Iraq. In fact the movie has some true to life references and is about a group of soldiers who return home from IRAQ and have to deal with settling back into civilian life. Hip-Hop star 50 Cent will star as a doctor and next to Samuel L. Jackson this film could have a chance. Filming is expected to begin on March 6, 2006 in Morocco and later in Spokane, Washington.

Desperate Housewives for Latin American TV

Desperate Housewives

Television executives announced two days ago that four local version of Desperate Housewives - Amas De Casas Desesperadas - will be produced for Latin American TV. Desperate Housewives new version will air on Argentina’s Artear, Colombia’s RCN, and Ecuador’s Teleamazonas, while a Portuguese language version will be produced for Brazil’s Rede TV as Donas De Casa Desesperadas.

Filming will begin in late April in Buenos Aires, Argentina and the Latin American version will follow the script and format of the US original, but each series will have their own cast and will include local cultural references.
