Gorillaz

Animated hitmakers Gorillaz are planning to star in their own TV cartoon series. The stars are reportedly very exited about the animated series and according to the The Sun, the project will be “a really funky, cool show for older kids.”

In other news, it seems Gorillaz will split by Christmas, according to a bandmember overheard discussing its shaky future. Remi, the voice behind animated character Russell, was heard telling a pal the Damon Albarn-fronted group are sick of the sight of each other.

Paris Hilton

First of all, Paris Hilton as Mother Teresa? I will try to keep my opinions for myself, so according to the news, film director T. Rajeevnath is said to meet Paris Hilton in the US in April to discuss if she can play the title role of his film on Nobel laureate Mother Teresa. The film director is going to the US with a few morphed photographs of Hilton as Mother Teresa.

The film will be shot mostly in West Bengal and in several foreign countries. For Rajeevnath, ‘Mother Teresa’ will be his 11th commercial film and the shooting is said to begin in early 2007.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been named W H Smith Book of the Year. The sixth book in JK Rowling’s series of seven won at the British Book Awards over Jamie Oliver’s Italy, as well as numerous autobiographies. The award — which also recognised his campaign to improve school dinners — was presented to him by Nora Sands, the dinner-lady from Kidbrooke School, southeast London, and some of the children, fans of ‘Harry Potter’.

I’m delighted that Harry Potter continues to give so much pleasure to adults and children, and I’m honoured to receive this award. I’m enjoying writing the last book in the series and it’s coming along nicely.
