‘Harry Potter’ wins Book of the Year

Harry Potter

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been named W H Smith Book of the Year. The sixth book in JK Rowling’s series of seven won at the British Book Awards over Jamie Oliver’s Italy, as well as numerous autobiographies. The award — which also recognised his campaign to improve school dinners — was presented to him by Nora Sands, the dinner-lady from Kidbrooke School, southeast London, and some of the children, fans of ‘Harry Potter’.

I’m delighted that Harry Potter continues to give so much pleasure to adults and children, and I’m honoured to receive this award. I’m enjoying writing the last book in the series and it’s coming along nicely.
