Guiding Light, General Hospital and The Ellen DeGeneres Show among winners at Daytime Emmys

During 33rd annual Daytime Emmys which was hosted by Tom Bergeron and Kelly Monaco at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and was broadcast live on ABC, CBS’ “Guiding Light” led the ceremony with four awards, but ABC’s “General Hospital” walked away with the best drama series award. “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” took home awards for best talk show host (second nod) and best talker for a third year during the ceremony.

Jennifer Landon, who portrays Gwen Norbeck on CBS’ “As the World Turns,” won her first Daytime Emmy, in the younger actress category while CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” picked up the Daytime Emmy in the writing for a drama series category.

Meanwhile, Alex Trebek took home his fourth Daytime Emmy as best game show host for the syndicated “Jeopardy!” which is distributed by King World Prods and TLC’s “A Baby Story” won the Daytime Emmy for special class series.

Among winners Suze Orman was named best service show host for a second time for PBS’ “For the Young, Fabulous & Broke.” PBS’ “Sesame Street,” which topped the Creative Craft awards with seven wins, won the award for best preschool children’s series. The show has won the award every year since the category was created, totaling 12 nods in the category.
