According to this Reuters report, movie director James Cameron wants the “movie industry to offer films in digital 3D to counteract declining sales and rampant piracy.” The idea is that Cameron not only sees 3D as the only way for Hollywood to combat movie piracy through the Internet but the director of Titanic, the most successful film of all time, has even called on Hollywood to “fight for survival” with a return to 3D movies.

Movie director James Cameron plans to re-release Titanic in digital 3D while, Peter Jackson is considering a 3D re-release of King Kong and The Lord of the Rings trilogy and George Lucas plans to re-release the original Star Wars in 3D and this is just the beginning.
