Jessica Alba in talks for The Eye remake!

According to Variety, Lionsgate is picking up Cruise/Wagner-produced remake The Eye and is in talks with one of favourite Hollywood celebrity Jessica Alba to star. The movie will be directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud and the shooting will start this winter.
Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner persuaded Paramount to buy the remake rights in 2002 and got close to making it there with Renée Zellweger till she dropped out.

Hollywood remake of Asian horror film, The Eye is a thriller about “a cornea transplant recipient who sees disturbing images in the mirror that send her on a quest to find out what happened to the eye’s previous owner.” The original thriller was made in Hong Kong directed by Thai brothers Danny and Oxide Pang.

Jessica Biel joining Adam Sandler in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the celebrity beauty Jessica Biel has signed on to star opposite Adam Sandler and Kevin James in Universal Pictures’ comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. The comedy, which will be released on July 20th 2007, will be directed by Dennis Dugan and produced by Shady Acres and Happy Madison.

The movie starts filming on August 31 and tells the story of two heterosexual (Adam Sandler and Kevin James) who pose as a gay married couple in order to qualify for their department’s domestic-partner benefits. Jessica Biel will play an attorney who will represent them and ends up being Adam Sandler’s affection.

In other celebrity news, Esquire’s sexiest woman alive Jessica Biel, has raised $30,000, in exchange for date, to help a teenager who lost her leg in a prom night limousine accident. The winning bid came from a man who requested anonymity.

Eva Longoria in the comedy How I Met My Boyfriend’s Dead Fiancee

According to Variety, Eva Longoria will appear in a new comedy called ‘How I Met My Boyfriend’s Dead Fiancee’ playing the ghost of his dead fiancee. The film will begin shooting on 24 August in Hollywood but that won’t stop Longoria from working on ‘Desperate Housewives’. It was revealed Eva will take care of the TV series during the week and work on the film at the weekend.

Variety says the movie also stars Paul Rudd and Lake Bell and tells the story of a psychic who falls in love with a sceptic and Eva Longoria, the ghost of the dead fiance, tries to keep them apart.

In other movie news, Eva Longoria will be seen since on 18 August on Irish cinema screens in the crime drama ‘Harsh Times’.
