According to contactmusic, in the poll of readers of British magazine Empire Hollywood legend Al Pacino’s classic movie Dog Day Afternoon was voted the best heist film of all time, beating another Pacino movie, Heat, to the top place. I have to say that it is hard to say - at least for me - a list of the best heist movie, for example I really enjoy the movie Heat or Inside Man. However, Empire’s list for the best heist movie goes on with the third place in which we find Clint Eastwood film Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, situating the great actor George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez’s Out Of Sight at number four and recent Inside Man starring Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster.

Tom Cruise production company, Cruise/Wagner has new movie partner

The Los Angeles Times reported that Tom Cruise has found a new movie partner for hisĀ  production company, Cruise/Wagner Productions ( after the split with Paramount Pictures ) making a deal with an investment group that includes Daniel M. Snyder, the owner of the Washington Redskins football team. It seems the agreement with Tom Cruise and his producing partner, Paula Wagner, is for two years in which Snyder, who’s also the chairman of Six Flags Inc., is said to be the lead investor. As is was expected it isn’t known yet how much would Cruise and Wagner would receive as part of the new deal.

Paramount Pictures announced the end of its 14-year business relationship with Cruise last week blaming the actor’s conduct. Meanwhile, in an interview with Newsweek magazine, Paramount Chairman Brad Grey has commented his boss decision, Sumner Redstone, to cut off ties with Tom Cruise’s production company, indicating that Cruise might yet be asked to return to the studio.

24 and The Office Top Winners at the 58th annual Emmy Awards

The 58th annual Emmy Awards ceremony was a big night for honoring the best in television. Among the big winners were the Fox thriller “24″ taking home statues for Best Drama and Best Actor for Kiefer Sutherland in the same category was also Mariska Hargitay as Best Actress for “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.”

A perfect day was also for “The Office” because the NBC series won its first Emmy as best comedy. Other comedy acting honors went to Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Best Actress in her new show, “The New Adventures of Old Christine.” Meanwhile Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show” also won its fourth Emmy as Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy series.
