According to the news, rapper/actor Will Smith’s production company Overbrook Entertainment has teamed up with Sony Pictures and Indian Entertainment company UTV in a co-production deal. Business Standard reports that Overbrook and UTV will develop films that have a global appeal and Sony will then distribute them in studios worldwide. The deal also reportedly includes a co-production agreement on Fox Searchlight’s forthcoming film I Think I Love My Wife, starring comedian Chris Rock.
Smith’s interest in the Indian movie industry started when he went in Mumbai in February and met with Bollywood “players”, including India’s biggest celebrity Aishwarya Rai, who made a good impression on Will. Meanwhile, Will Smith and his son Jaden can be seen in the upcoming film, The Pursuit of Happiness, which is due in December.
I enjoy Will Smith movies. Hopefully we can expect something good from him sometime soon. I wouldn’t mind an action movie, but I really enjoy his comedic stuff.
