Terrence Howard Joins Iron Man

According to Variety, the Celebrity actor Terrence Howard will join Paramount Pictures’ Iron Man cast. Iron Man will be played by Robert Downey Jr. and in the movie Howard will play Jim Rhodes a high ranking military officer and aviator and the best friend of Tony Stark, the billionaire industrialist who becomes the superhero known as Iron Man.
Jon Favreau is directing the film and shooting begins in February in Los Angeles with the movie’s release, through Paramount Pictures for May 2, 2008 release. The movie “Iron Man” will be produced by Avi Arad and Feige and executive producers are Michael Helfant, Arad, Favreau, Louis D’Esposito and Peter Billingsley.
Kevin Feige, Marvel’s president of production, has rolled out an explanations of why Howard was choose for the part, saying: The richness of the role and complexity of the character seemed to mesh perfectly with the type of passion, energy and emotion that Howard brings to all of his projects.”
Howard, who earned an Academy Award nomination for best actor for his performance in last year’s “Hustle & Flow,” also starred in the Oscar-winning “Crash.”
