Johnny Depp tops People’s Choice Awards Nominees

According to the news, the nominees of the January’s 33rd People’s Choice Awards (which are based on a public vote) were announced in front with Johnny Depp - who on the Favourite Male Movie Star award last year - being nominated in three categories: for Favourite Male Movie Star, Best Male Action star and Favourite On-Screen Match-Up with his co-star Keira Knightley. In other categories, Johnny Depp, Samuel L Jackson and Jet Li will fight it out for the Male Action Star prize while Hollywood stars Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock will compete for Best Female Movie Star.The People’s Choice Awards will take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on January 9th while People’s Choice nominees for categories including favourite movie, new TV comedy and remake of a song will soon be announced.

Jodie Markell Directing Lindsay Lohan’ The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond

According to Variety, Lindsay Lohan is set to play in a big screen version of Tennessee Williams screenplay, “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond” while actress Jodie Markell has signed on to make her feature directing debut. The dramatic script “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond” was published in the four-part collection “Stopped Rocking and Other Screenplays” in 1984.

The shooting of the film will start this spring in Louisiana. The movie will tell the story of Fisher Willow (Lindsay Lohan), an arrogant daughter of a plantation owner falling in love with a plantation worker, Jimmy (played by Chris Evans). Actors Ellen Burstyn, David Strathairn and Ann-Margret are also among the cast ones.

Eminem signs movie deal

According to the news, Celebrity Rapper Eminem signed a movie deal with Hollywood talent agency International Creative Management after recently turned down $8 million to star opposite Samuel L Jackson in director Doug Liman’s upcoming film Jumper. Music icon ( who is set to release his upcoming album ‘Eminem Presents: The Re-Up ) had his mind set on stay away from Hollywood; an exception has been made and Eminem has agreed to play a role in the remake of the 1950s TV Western Have Gun Will Travel.

In the movie Eminem - who is reportedly also recording the music for the movie - will reportedly play professional gunslinger Palladin and Paramount Pictures will team with the raper for developing the film.

In other news, Eminem is making a surprising return to music as film serial killer Hannibal Lecter in his new video “You Don’t Know” in which also features his pal Hip-Hop star 50 Cent.
