Jamie Foxx signs up for musical biopic ‘The Soloist’

Reports say the R&B singer and Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx has signed up to star in a musical biopic titled The Soloist. Jamie is a great actor, he won the best actor Academy Award for playing Ray Charles in “Ray”, this role could represent a second award for him, as the actor will play the part of Nathaniel Anthony Ayers, a schizophrenic homeless musician whose biggest wish is to play at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The musical biopic is a DreamWorks film project and will be directed by Joe Wright (”Atonement”, “Pride and Prejudice”) while Susannah Grant (”Erin Brockovich”) adapted the screenplay. Inside the movie team are also Gary Foster (”Ghost Rider,” “Elektra”) and Russ Krasnoff who are set to produce, while Tim Bevan is executive producing having Rikki Lea Bestall as co-producer. The musical is based on a “12-part series of articles that was written by Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez called ‘From Skid Row to Disney Hall’”.
