Tom Hanks elected vice president to Oscar Academy

One of the Hollywood most loved actors Tom Hanks has been elected as one of the the new vice president of America’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. AMPAS is a professional honorary organization dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of motion pictures. The Academy is known around the world for its annual Academy Awards, informally known as the Oscars. The 51-year-old actor/producer Tom Hanks, who has won Best Actor Oscars for his appearances in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump, has previously worked as a governor for the organization. The President of the institution remains film producer Sid Ganis as he was re-elected.
