Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe’s American Gangsters premiere

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Denzel W

Two of Hollywood’s most talented actors Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe have combined their efforts for one of the most talked about movies of the year, American Gangsters. The actors showed up at premiere of American Gangster yesterday and spoke a few works with press about about the movie and how it was like to work together again, because Academy Award-winners Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe first acted opposite each other a dozen years ago in Virtuosity a sci-fi crime thriller set in virtual reality.

American Gangster, directed and produced by Ridley Scott whose credits include “Blade Runner,” “Black Hawk Down” and “Gladiator,” is is based on the real life exploits of Frank Lucas, a Harlem heroin kingpin, and Richie Roberts, the cop who brought him to justice, as originally chronicled in a New York Magazine article by Mark Jacobson entitled “The Return of Superfly.”

It’s not about a heavyweight fight. What it is, is much more like two (guitarists) playing together, two people singing together…. If you can blend, if you can harmonize and you can sing together still from two completely separate points of view, now you are talking.

Brad Pitt

According to the news, Hollywood Celebrity Brad Pitt will star in a remake of 60s classic movie ‘Bullitt’ taking the role of Lt Frank Bullitt. The role in question was made famous by Hollywood legend Steve McQueen in the original film back in 1968. The original film follows the story of a detective going after a hitman who has killed his work partners. Brad Pitt has been linked with the role since 2003 and it seems now is the project the green light.
No other details about the movie are known, but meanwhile Brad Pitt can be seen playing Jesse James in the western ‘The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford’, due out in October.

Brad shares a lot of the same passions as Steve McQueen - including a love of motorbikes and fast cars - so it was a dream role for him.
