Sopranos Emmy

“The Sopranos” walked away with three awards, including the coveted “Outstanding Drama Series” honors recently at 59th Anniversary of the Emmy Awards. The HBO series was lucky to win the award, as it rarely goes to a show that has been canceled. The other two trophies were for “Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series” and “Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series.” As a recall Sopranos’ five cast members were nominated for individual Emmys, but none of them got their honors for their categories. Check out the full list of winners this year Emmy awards.

This amazing cast is what it came down to. It really is all about them.

As a recall Grey’s Anatomy received ten nominations for this year’s Emmy, among those was also a very precious award, for Best Supporting Actress. Even more when, three stars from Grey’s Anatomy (Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, and Chandra Wilson) were nominated for this category. A surprise indeed not only for us but for them too. The one who took the prize at home was Katherine Heigl thanks to her reprisal of the role of Isobel ‘Izzie’ Stevens. Heigl - who as been in the headlines lately for her engagement to musician Josh Kelly - was wearing a stunning white gown at the ceremony where she also happened to accept her Emmy for Best Supporting Actress.
