Buena Vista Pictures’ “Wild Hogs” topped this weekend box office, cashing in $38 million over the last three days. Starring John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy, the film also represents the best opening from his movie career for John Travolta. “Wild Hogs” is rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content, and some violence. Running time is 1 hour, 39 minutes.

The Grudge 2

The movie “The Grudge 2″ topped the box office in the last weekend with $20.8 million. The film made by Sony Pictures, helped Sony break another industry record with 12 number one openings this year. The horror movie predecessor, “The Grudge,” also topped the box office when it opened in 2004 with a take of more than 39 million dollars. The drama “The Departed,” went to second place, bringing in 19 million dollars with a two-week take to 57 million.

Jack Nicholson

Martin Scorsese’s movie “The Departed,” led the box office this weekend, making an estimated $27 million. The drama, which stars Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon, chronicles a mob boss, played by Nicholson, who puts one of his own in the Massachusetts State Police academy.

“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning” raked in an estimated $19.2 million,”Open Season,”  $16 million, “Employee of the Month” $11.8 million, “The Guardian” 9.6 million, “Jackass: Number Two” 6.4 million, “School for Scoundrels” 3.4 million, “Gridiron Gang” 2.3 million, “Jet Li’s Fearless” 2.2 million, and “The Illusionist” 1.8 million, “Little Miss Sunshine” 1.3 million and “Flyboys” 1 million.
