Saturday, September 30th, 2006

Crocodile Hunter’s manager and long-time friend John Stainton has said the special public memorial held last week in honor of Steve Irwin will be released on DVD which will be available by October 14 through EMI Music Australia. Titled He Changed Our World, the service took place at the Crocoseum at the Irwin family’s Australia Zoo wildlife park on the Sunshine Coast last Wednesday, where up to 300 million people around the world watched it. There were tributes from celebrities like Russell Crowe, Cameron Diaz, Hugh Jackman and Justin Timberlake.

All income from the special edition DVD would go to Steve’s Wildlife Warriors fund. EMI Music Australia managing director John O’Donnell said the DVD contributed to “the preservation of Steve’s memory”.

Irwin died after a stingray plunged its barb into his chest on September 4. His wife Terri Irwin said he had a strong wish for privacy after his death and whether Steve Irwin was cremated or buried we’ll never know. However it is believed he was buried at his beloved Australia Zoo on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, where recently was held a private funeral for Irwin.

Grarfield

According to the news, the 2004 movie “Garfield” will have a sequel which is better than the original. In the sequel “Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties”, Hewitt’s character is off to London for work, with Meyer having an engagement ring in the pocket. In order to block the proposal Garfield the lazy orange cat goes out of his home and hops into a bag heading to England, once there Garfield is switched with Prince, an aristo-cat and you can guess what happens.

Comic superstar Garfield - still voiced by Bill Murray - returns next to Breckin Meyer and Jennifer Love Hewitt after the first film, released in 2004, took $75 million at the US box office, even more internationally and on DVD, making the sequel inevitable.
