Filming begins for “Sex and the City” movie

Finally, I for one though it will never happen! I know many of you have been dying to see the movie version of Sex and the City. Film crew gathered on Manhattan’s upper East Side to begin the movie production of the highly anticipated film. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall, will reprise their roles while Michael Patrick King, who executive-produced the series, is set to direct the movie. Sarah for example was the first from the female side to film on the set for her role in the upcoming “Sex and the City” movie at the Metropolitan Museum of Art playing Carrie Bradshaw.

According to New York Daily News, reported that “New Line and HBO finally announced their partnership on the movie to be helmed by director/producer Michael Patrick King, with backing from John Melfi, series creator Darren Star and Parker. ” The movie will be released in mid-to-late 2008 and unfortunately no other details were given.

Revolution Studios released a trailer for their undergoing movie “Next”, a science fiction/action thriller based on the Philip K Dick story, “The Golden Man”. According to the film’s official site, Gary Goldman adapted Dick’s story for the big screen. The movie gathers actors like Julianne Moore, Jessica Biel and Nicholas Cage. Paramount Pictures’ sci-fi thriller Next is directed by Lee Tamahori (who also directed Along Came a Spider, Die Another Day and xXx: State of the Union) where Nicolas Cage plays a man who can see into his own future. Pursued by the FBI, for his abilities in order to prevent a global terrorist threat, Nicolas finds himself in a situation where he has to choose between saving the world or the woman he loves. Jodie Markell Directing Lindsay Lohan’ The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond

According to Variety, Lindsay Lohan is set to play in a big screen version of Tennessee Williams screenplay, “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond” while actress Jodie Markell has signed on to make her feature directing debut. The dramatic script “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond” was published in the four-part collection “Stopped Rocking and Other Screenplays” in 1984.

The shooting of the film will start this spring in Louisiana. The movie will tell the story of Fisher Willow (Lindsay Lohan), an arrogant daughter of a plantation owner falling in love with a plantation worker, Jimmy (played by Chris Evans). Actors Ellen Burstyn, David Strathairn and Ann-Margret are also among the cast ones.
